What is oud?
Oud (agarwood, oudh) is a dark, resinous heartwood formed when Aquilaria trees are infected by a specific mould. The tree produces a defensive resin that accumulates in the wood — this is oud. It’s harvested, aged, and either burned as incense or distilled into oil.
